What's included in the free plan?

The free Starter plan includes milestone escrow, evidence upload, dispute resolution, and a Trust Badge. The first $30,000 of escrow on each job is fee-free; above that you pay a flat 1.6% transaction fee on funds released — no monthly subscription.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, changes take effect at the end of your billing cycle.

What payment methods are accepted?

Stagex accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Bank transfers are available for escrow deposits. Enterprise plans can arrange direct debit.

Is there a contract or lock-in?

No. All plans are month-to-month with no lock-in contracts. Annual plans offer a discount but you can cancel anytime — unused months are refunded pro-rata.

Do you offer discounts for large teams?

Yes. Our Enterprise plan includes custom subscription pricing for teams of 20+ users. Contact our sales team for a tailored quote with volume discounts on the subscription. The escrow fee is the same flat 1.6% on every plan.

Policy update — 1 October 2026

What happens on 1 October 2026?

The Reserve Bank of Australia's review of retail payments regulation bans surcharging on consumer card payments from 1 October 2026. Card-acceptance costs can no longer be passed to the payer as a separate line item.

What standalone CRMs will do: Raise headline subscription or transaction prices to cover Stripe's card-acceptance fees, which they can no longer surcharge to your customers.
What Stagex will do: Absorb the card fee inside our existing 1.6% milestone-escrow margin. No price change to you or your customers. Stagex eats it.

Is GST included in the displayed prices?

Yes. The monthly subscription prices ($49, $59, $99, $119) are GST-inclusive — what you see is what you pay. Your tax invoice from Stagex breaks out the GST component so your accountant or bookkeeper can claim it back the same way they do any other software subscription.

Does the % apply to labour, materials, or both?

Both — the escrow fee applies to the milestone amount that gets released to you, full stop. Labour, materials, margin: it all counts the same. Once a job passes its $30k fee-free band, the flat 1.6% applies to the amount above the band — one fee, one line on the tax invoice, no splitting hairs over what counts as what.

What happens if we go over $30k on a job mid-way through?

The $30k fee-free band is calculated on the total funded into escrow across the whole job, not per milestone. Once cumulative milestone funding crosses $30k, a flat 1.6% applies to the portion above $30k — earlier milestones stay fee-free. The rate is the same 1.6% on every plan.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No. Every plan is month-to-month — cancel any time from your account settings, no exit fees, no notice period. If you're on an annual plan and cancel partway through, unused months are refunded pro-rata. The only thing that locks in is the discount if you choose annual billing.
